They’re paying him $2. He cost them $20. That’s not big cash for a guy who could be a starter. If he winds up being a plus starter then he’s a bargain The problem as I see it is they asked teams to Completely revamp what they were doing. Which teams are only willing to do for a transformative player. And that is what right now is in serious doubt. I also think his development as a hitter appears to be threatened by his work as an al pitcher
