Mike Trout: Sporting News MLB Player of the Year.

Mike Trout was named the Sporting News' MLB Player of the Year.  This award is voted on by current MLB players.

"Trout’s peers voted him the 2019 Sporting News Player of the Year in an election consisting of 270 MLB players. Trout received 134 votes for Player of the Year, and not including the 11 Angels ballots cast (teams cannot vote for their own players), Trout garnered 52 percent of the vote. Anthony Rendon came in second with 34 votes, and Christian Yelich came in third with 29."

Trout was also named the Hank Aaron Offensive Player of the Year for the AL.  Braun won the NL award.  The Aaron award is voted on by writers, Hall of Famers, and fans.
