Reading between the lines, USC's assistant coach took a bribe from the shoe company and used some of that money to pay to Melton's friend in order for the friend to steer Melton towards USC.  All (or most of this) is backed up with undercover video of the money changing hands and bank records. 

Now, whether or not that rises to the level of a Federal crime, I don't know but I know for sure as sh*t that it is a slam dunk as an NCAA violation. 

As far as USC is concerned, Melton can't play and has to go.  Period.  End of story.
