His great value is also in his being in his rookie contract Right? He’s a great deal as it stands but Is he WORTH $20M a year? Or could you get a guy for $8-$10M who averages very close to his current scoring and rebounding? Then again Lakers don’t have a Top 10 pick this year or next most likely. This “value” lens really makes it harder to make long term decisions. It’s not just about the stats anymore (1st Dimension). It’s about what you are paying for to get those stats (2nd Dimension). Let alone the decision/discussion re: what a player can do in a system with another player or team. (3rd Dimension aka the West Dimension).
