Okay, let's say that's true.

There's no reason you couldn't keep the shell of the outer wall and build a real football stadium inside (except for cost of course).  That's what they did with Soldier Field.  

Given what they're charging for seat licenses and those box seats, it's not unreasonable to expect to spend more like Texas A&M for a renovation than Washington.  

I could see the outer shell being kept with a foyer style interior.  You could create a mall of concessions and souvineer booths between the wall and the stadium proper.  

The point is that a real football option is possible.  It's expensive, but aren't we USC?  We shouldn't be frivilous, but I truly believe there's a real staged approach that gets something like this done over the next 10 years.

Part of the reason why the Coliseum averages 75k is because lots of people just aren't willing to sit in those terrible seats.  Now you're going to have to.  The 70,000th best seat was not good, but it wasn't unacceptably bad.  Now the 70,000th seat is going to be the worst in the house.  I mean look at how far from the field you are with these, considered reasonable seats


It'll be interesting to see.
