Great observation

I have been mulling over the past couple of weeks why UW's offense isn't as crisp as it should be, and your WR comment aligns to what I 'think'.

I don't know if it is Petersen's system or the type of QB Browning is, but it appears that offense needs two bell-cow WRs to work as it should. McClatcher was getting a lot of reps last season in place of John Ross, preparing for this season. The offense was doing pretty well but seem to stagnate after McClatcher went down with a season ending injury in the Colorado game. Then TrFr Hunter Bryant was starting to emerge as a reciever on the out and seam patterns. He went down in the UCLA game and the offense started to sputter again.

Husy fans have observed that Browning is not a QB that can put a team on his back like a Billy Joe Hobert, Marques Tuiasosopo or a Jake Locker. He tends to bail too early instaed of standing in there and delivering the ball in the face of a rush when he know he will get hit. No QB likes that but the real good ones stand in there and take it.

Even though UW's defense uncharactersitically couldn't get out of 3rd downs last Friday, it is still one of the best.
