USC got 3 corners last year...

...two of them were 5-star kids on at least one rating service.  The other a solid 4 star guy.  Probably the #1 CB class in the country.  Hard to convince blue-chip kids to come toa school with what they consider a crowded depth chart.

However, USC will lose 4 starting caliber CB's this year, Ajene Harris, Jack Jack (probably), Biggie, and Jonathan Lockett.

The problem for USC right now is that they have their thumb up their butt when it comes to recruiting... they are ranked #52 on 247.   They are acting like this is 2016 and the only signing period is in February.  They are continuing to evaluate kids.   They seem to have no clue that last year out of 369 players listed as 4 or 5 star recruits (247 composite), 279 signed in the December early signing period.

Everyone else in the country, especially the traditional powers are all over this trend and have double digit recruits.  Alabame got caught with their pants down last year and ended up having their worst recruiting year this decade, but now are a soilid #1 with 12 commits.

Meanwhile, USC has 2, one of which is a 3-star.

USC would probably take 3 corners this year, but even elite guys like Mykael Wright are barely hearing from the Trojans.   As Duck says, Oregon could well pick up committments from two of them.   Of course they might not stick, and when the dust clears, USC will probably have the better class still.  The question is, how much better would it be if USC realized there is a new reality in recruiting and start expending more energy wrapping guys up?
