well the kid has some nice numbers and is coached by Curt Warner and the guys that do this for a living looking at the guy recently ..they had this to say:

"Slovis recently competed at the Las Vegas Nike Regional over the weekend and was one better QBs in attendance, per West Coast analyst Greg Biggins, who added that Slovis was "really good mechanically" and showed a strong arm."

“Slovis is steady across the board as a true passer, with decent arm strength, timing and accuracy. Although he might not have elite arm strength or can’t-miss measurables, Slovis steps into his throws and can hit receivers at multiple levels. He’s been good at camps this offseason and shown good athleticism on rollout drills, maintaining his precision while throwing off the wrong foot," said Angulo. "The quarterback class this year isn’t exactly setting the recruiting world on fire, but Slovis is a capable passer with some nice upside and, as it pertains to USC, could be considered an ideal prospect to sandwich between two elite quarterbacks in 2018 and 2020.”
