I still say Helton's not as bad as most of the vocal critics here say, and not as good as the stoic defenders say. He's got the talent to go no worse than 8-5 every year. He makes himself much worse with his choices of assistants - nepotism at its core. I personally don't see the wheels falling off like they did with Smith. But it's sort of a no mans land with Helton. Good enough record to hang around but not god enough coach to get SC to the playoffs. IMO of course.
