And how do the players respect you?

They respect you if you hold them accountable.  These may be young guys, but they're not children.  Children lose respect for authority because it prevents them from getting what they want.  Adults are different; as long as authority puts them in a better position to succeed, they are in a much better position to learn from it than children are. 

A coach who does not hold his players accountable in all things -- including and perhaps especially discipline -- can never be respected.
