73rd Anniversary of needless Nagasaki

By: crunchgodabruinknees

Today is the 73rd anniversary of the second and last time nuclear weapons were used on Earth: America’s dropping of the second atomic bomb on Japan, on the city of Nagasaki.  Emperor Hirohito announced Japan’s surrender in a public radio broadcast, ending the Second World War.  Japan by that point had been at war with the United States for three and a half years, and with the Soviet Union for roughly a week, after being thoroughly provoked into war by US attempts to cripple its economy through embargo.

We continue to pay the toll of FDR’s pro-soviet decisions through our continued foreign entanglements even today. His pro-soviet choices created the bipolar world of the cold war.

Our war to save the British Empire failed to end the threat of totalitarianism as Britain and Russia continued their oppressionOf course, after provoking the war the USA had little choice but to win. And we won the grand booby prize of becoming the world's policeman draining our economy through endless giant “defense” spending by occupying Germany and elsewhere for decades, maintain huge fleets and a giant standing Army.

Red Franklin failed.
