Fisher Should Read the Lawsuit Before Talking

In a recent ESPN.com article, Jeff Fisher said that Kiffin's Geographic influence assertion was absurd as follows:

... Kiffin also said the Titans acted at least in part as a PR move because he's unpopular in Tennessee for having left the University of Tennessee for the USC job after only one season in Knoxville.

"I didn't see the comments but I heard there were some comments to the effect that this may have been a geographic issue. That was brought to my attention," Fisher said. "That's absurd. I mean, we're talking about two different entities here.

"We're talking about an NFL team and an action that took place last weekend and a whole different set of circumstances that took place months ago surrounding a tremendous educational institution in the University of Tennessee. So they are two completely different issues, and how one could combine the two is absurd to me."...

Yet, the brief itself tries to tie the 2 issues together as described in this AP article that reads in part:

...The lawsuit doesn't hold back in criticizing Kiffin for "furtherance of a culture of violation and avoidance of respect for the sanctity of contract, which Kiffin similarly practices ..." in inducing Pola to breach his contract.

The lawsuit notes that Kiffin "abruptly departed" his coaching job at the University of Tennessee in January after just 14 months, angering Volunteers fans. Kiffin also lured four other Tennessee assistants to join him at USC, and the lawsuit also notes how the coach tried to hire Eric Bienemy away from the Minnesota Vikings, forcing that team to redo a contract to keep him. ...

I really feel bad for Jeff having to live in a region so hell bent on exacting revenge on Kiffin and USC that he has to go with the mob just to keep his job and get fans in the seats. I'm sure he in no way wanted to sue, and probably didn't even read it.
