2/13/2025 Tech stocks shine

Despite what some might interpret as my whining, bitching pissing and moaning, my portfolio is close to an all time high today. Everything I own is green with TSLA, Nvdia, and Apple excelling.

“Big tech led equities higher, with Tesla Inc. and Nvidia Corp. up at least 3.2%. Apple Inc. climbed 1.5% as chief Tim Cook said the “newest member of the family” is coming on Feb. 19. Meta Platforms Inc. wavered after an 18-day surge. Treasuries rebounded from the worst slide since December. The dollar fell after a CNBC reporter posted on X that President Donald Trump’s tariffs set to be announced Thursday will not go into effect until possibly April 1.”

Mets needs to chill out for a week. Tesla for a month.

It’s just a weird stock. I couldn’t even begin to predict where it will be in a month. No one can. It could be $450 or it could be $300 or less. And it has little to do with business fundamentals.

If it stays under 350-355 it can expire 3/21 and hopefully I can avoid that game again. If it stays newr there I can buy it out cheap on the day. And then throw it forward hopefully much higher and have that expire at 400 a month later or something.

I have some problems with meta cloudfare (net) and Tesla all being above where I sold calls. So I need to have them come down or double down. Split them. Sell new calls at higher targets and hope things chill out a bit on all this ai stuff. It’s the latest rage and naturally I couldn’t leave well enough alone

But my Meta which I was forced to buy when I was less savvy and guess wrong on a call. Got it about 3 years ago at maybe 160? 200? I spent about $250k I think. It’s 1.3 million now. I remember when it was 500k and I’d doubled my $ and I’m thinking wow lucky me considering I didn’t even want to own it. And then it went to 750k. Then 1m. Then 1.25. Now I have to figure out how to get these calls to expire so I don’t have to sell it.

It’s not that i wouldn’t mind selling it. But man those taxes

Yeah, I'm dreading meeting with my CPA this year.. And that day is coming soon. I had a great year in 2024, everything clicked, Stocks, loans, interest income, real estate.
