And California isn’t even the worst hit. Texas, Florida and the tornado alley states need to shoulder their share. I’m tired of paying for them to rebuild in the same gottdamn place. Being serious this along with rising property taxes is a threat to homeownership. People in fixed income are in danger. God bless Howard Jarvis and Proposition 13.
In the last 5 years no one has been harder hit than Texas. No one.
Pretty soon insurance and taxes will be more than the mortgage note. Let’s all move to Wyoming.

It starts with construction. The cost of lumber has exploded the past 4 years…all that starts with energy.
You don’t build anything personally, you don’t seem like a DIY guy, but Im sure you have repairs done. Fencing, etc.
2x4 pine are $5 now
6’ cedar pickets $5
4x4x8 cedar posts $35
4x8 ply $50
These costs are unsustainable.
Things have to change….more options of insurance companies would help, it’s becoming like Airlines, pharma….not enough options kills competition, drives prices up.
