Lenders in UK stop offering mortgages

I have not heard of any government efforts to buy real estate. I have a portfolio of real estate that I self manage. Mostly residential. I am involved day to day. Properties in three SoCal counties. The state paid me $48,000 in tenant back rent earlier this year Thru a program called Housekey rent assistance. Another tax payer rip off that really pisses me off. These tenants boldly stole that money from the taxpayer. If they wanted to bust out landlords they wouldn’t be paying all that money. The rent moratoriums have more to do with pandering for votes politicians. In my opinion. I will see what I find out about that tho. I will agree that a lot of smaller mom and pop landlord/ investors are getting hurt bad by these moratoriums and many are being forced to sell.

edit: By the way it took me almost a year to get paid back. I had to carry the debt and expenses on my own. Many can’t do that.

They are doing that now, in a round-about way through Blackstone. And this whole thing with relaxing the requirements and costs for plans to build a rental unit in your backyard is absolute BS. If a neighbor decides to do that fight them every step of the way. If you don't your street full of multi-million dollar houses will be lined with shitty cars and roosters.

Yes, some of the story is coming back to me now. It was “a little” a ver my head, so I’m sure I Fd up articulating. It was definitely a little more complicated than I stated above…. Hearing what bb said, ITs even more confusing now…. We all see the general direction our country is headed, which is why I’ll be looking at this closer going forward. Thanks fellas
