Hey there Wild West Wealth advisors :)
Anyone have experience with Self-Directed IRAs? I've got an old 401k/other slush funds account that is basically making <7% and was thinking of investing in real estate and maybe metals ... thoughts? I know plenty about it from advisors and Google ... but some "real life" experience would be helpful.
Thoughts? References to trusted custodians?
Is this a spam post or a real board member? Ok I’ll bite since this is my wheelhouse.
Hello, yes I have used a self directed IRA to do exactly what you’re talking about doing. In 2010 I fired my professional money manager for losing me a shitload of money . I pulled all of it out and put it in a self directed IRA. I used it to go on a real estate buying orgy from 2010-2020. Flipped a bunch of houses and also kept a bunch. I also use the self directed Ira to buy real estate secured loans or to fund new ones.
Best thing I ever did.
I started with Pensco they were acquired by pacific premier. Making the investment and accessing your funds is simple. Only downside for me us their quarterly fees, they raised their fees recently but I have found no one better. Let me know if you have questions, I have funded hundreds of transactions using my Ira since 2010. My adviser was dead wrong.
