“On my first day back in the Oval Office, I will sign an executive order directing every Cabinet secretary and agency head to use every tool and authority at their disposal to defeat inflation and bring consumer prices rapidly down," Trump said. "I will instruct my Cabinet that I expect results within the first 100 days, or much sooner."
It’s this simple guys. A vague non specific directive to unnamed bureaucrats who then pass on the order to their employees, other unnamed bureaucrats who are mostly clueless. Oh, and they are expected to do it in 100 days or presumably they will face executions. I guess.
So one candidate has no clue, no plan, no ideas, and the other candidate’s only solution is to give away money and impose price controls. Our only salvation is the hope whomever wins (Trump) hires competent Cabinet members.
He could go after all companies who are "Price gauging" like Kamala has promised.
Still not sure if she just can't read her teleprompter or if she's so stupid as to not know the meaning of the word versus "gouging"
Maybe we should go with Elizabeth Warren's plan then, eh Balls? Tell me, what President has not had their cabinet do all the heavy lifting? Show me some photos of the oval office with spreadsheets, powerpoints on video screens, etc. That is what the cabinet is for. Contrary to popular belief, there is more to it than having unprotected butt-sex in the situation room and posting pictures of it on Twitter. What's next, you want Trump to go pick up the first dog's dump off the white house lawn and shuck the baggie over the fence?
all he needs to do is implement the much ridiculed Calvin Coolidge plan of reducing taxes and government spending, since both are inflationary
(US) government is the largest consumer of goods, services, and labor in the world and therefore competes with the private sector across all markets including credit and either drives prices higher or keeps them artificially high
if the government stopped buying, prices would stabilize or even go down
Regan did half of this by reducing taxes, but he never did reduce government spending
then there is the money supply issue and the national debt, which Coolidge also reduced
Calvin cut spending and taxes by 50 percent and paid off 30 percent of the national debt resulting in net budget surpluses throughout the 1920s. Unemployment fell to 1.8 percent, the lowest U.S. peacetime level in more than 100 years.
edt: But then Trump would risk being labeled "The Do Nothing President"
