As you know, I don’t follow the American League. But I do know baseball when I watch it and see it. I know an approach to the ball I know when a guy plays stuff off the wall. I know backing up. I know posture and fielding confidence.
So I just learned the Yankees had the third most errors in baseball for the first time just now. And yet simply by watching I’ve been saying since game one this was the worst defensive team I’ve ever seen in the World Series. I’m going to guess that very few if any World Series have had a team that had the third most errors in baseball. So as much as it might sound like hyperbole that I was piling on the Yankees?
I probably was dead right.
Yankees are tough when the slugging is on….when it’s not, they are mid.
Worst defensive inning ever in a WS
Bad defense and some choking by the Yankees. The two errors, Judge and Volpe, and Cole not covering first were easy plays, standard for every level of baseball. I would excoriate my beer league slow pitch softball teammates for those lapses in judgement. But we still had to capitalize with two two-out hits by Freeman and Teoscar.
I was so happy we didn't have to go to game 6, though I felt confident with Yamo vs the Yankees.
Did you know that no World Series has ever gone to even a 6th game after 3-0, 25 total? 21 sweeps and now 4 series finishing in 5 games. They've been playing this series since 1901. Doesn't seem possible.
Who’s on First? When Mookie beat out that ground ball to the first baseman, and no one was there to cover proves your point.
What a calamity of errors in that game by the Yanks, Boone drops a fly ball, horrible throw to 3rd everyone is safe loading the bases, Pitcher balks throwing 3 times to first, Catcher interference, and base running errors. Comical baseball blunders.
Lmao. You‘re being serious Stuart?
