I’ve been saying this from the day they’d signed ohtani
He’s hardly an improvement over jd as a hitter
They’re missing about 3-4 starting p and have done nothing to replace them. Yamamoto so far is a bust. Glasgow is waiting to get hurt. Preston is actually pitching better than expected.
Sheehan. Miller. Kershaw. Trienan. Graterol. Buhler. May. All live arms. A whole pitching staff. Gone.
Chris Taylor sucks. Even more than Christ Taylor sucked last year. Which was a lot. James outman has fallennoff his modest rookie perch into the abyss his prospect rankings predicted. Austin Barnes is done.
Max muncy is an awful 3b.
Their bullpen is Evan Phillips. An erratic Joe Kelly. And a barely held together Daniel Hudson. Waiting for his next acl tear.
This is absolutely not a World Series favorite and in fact. Their offense is fairly weak compared to predictions. They’re counting on Jason heyward. He of one of the worst contracts in major league history to be there starting right fielder. Oh, and he’s hurt. Which shouldn’t be too surprising since he was good about eight years ago and he’s about 48 years old now.
You should be able to get solid outfield production from all three spots. And instead in centerfield, they’ve got about a 188 average. They’ve got absolutely nothing and right field between Hayward and Taylor. And Hernandez left is basically Dave Kingman. Massive strikeouts. No walks. Lots of highlight power. Moderate to low batting average.
Of course they’re overrated. If walks were minimal and the location of pitches were better it could have easily gone the other way but it didn’t. Agree with every point you made. If they don’t make it to the WS everyone can pile on because they have nothing better to do. And guess what??? Tomorrow’s Wednesday.

This team has problems
Anything other than a perfect season is unacceptable with that roster. Buying a title is for pussies.
