He said in the postgame interview cold weather helps his grip and movement of pitches. Also, he went to the stretch early in the game because the cold made the rubber hard(nyuk) and had to get his foot off it.
💯 true. What’s funny is everyone hailed this new sweeper pitch. Which isn’t all that new. About 5-8 years ago. Everyone starting using it. I’m sure it’s been great for guys arms hasn’t it?
I was noticing he was over rotating and really falling off to 1b. Not sure I remember that so much out of him before. I’ve never seen him nibble so much. Every count was pound low and outside miss. Pound low and outside strike. I mean it was painful to watch. Foul foul. Miss. Strike. Nibbled all night. Glad he got away with it. Didn’t challenge anyone
Gave me a freaking heart attack. My kids hs coach loved that. And neither of my boys who played for him are pitchers. They did it because well. They were elite travel players playing at a sorry small school. So guess what? They magically were SS and P.
And coach loved to pitch from behind. I swear the coach created more rallies. It was ridiculous. In those leagues. Like little league. There are 3 guys who can hit. 3 guys who can get lucky if get sloppy. And 3 guys who suck who need 3 down the pipe and go sit down
This idiot would start anyone out with a low outside pitch. Miss? Try again. F dude. We are now down 2-0 to the 7-8 hitter who isn’t swinging anyway. Know how we approach hitters 4-9? Set up inside corner to a rh and pound that fastball. Every single time. If you hit it you back him off and claim the plate and get a strike. Being a rhp if you miss? You get out over the play and it’s still strike 1. Because these guys suck. Except playoffs.
But nope. This idiot thought he was pitching to Barry bonds. Totally elevated pitch counts on his own kids and only had a couple arms.
Watching Walker brought back all the same feelings of “Poute inside corner. Get ahead and punch him out with a change or seeeping curve”. But nope. Nibble out. Nibble dirt. Nibble out.
