Here’s betting. Haha that the original story is what ohtani quietly admits to To investigators and that we here that an “amicable” arrangement has been made among all parties concerned.

And I can’t believe I am defending f the bookie. I am not a gambler. Think it’s dangerous. True story here. When I was maybe in my 30s and I had built the business well and was living pretty modestly. Kids growing up well and house about paid off. My dad observed. As he often does. In a weird way. He said “you know. You’re set up for some real growth in your investments. Business etc. I think the only thing at this point you could do to screw this up would be a drug addiction or maybe gambling. I don’t even think you could drink enough to piss all this away”

As usual when my dad said stuff like that I wasn’t sure if it was a compliment. Or like if he was cheering for it to happen. Or thinking that maybe I would? I’ve never been a drinker or drug guy but it’s tempting w some of how closely I follow sports to gamble and that comment from him. Weird as it was. Was one of two main reasons I don’t.

So back to the bookie. Dude is doing his job. People make bets. They sure expect to be paid if they win. And if they lose he has to pay off whoever is taking the action. I’d not him. Often he’s a middle man. Just doing a job. So people lose big. Run to the cops crying and these guys are out their money. I get that it might be illegal. Though to be honest, I thought everything was legal in California these days. Pedophilia gambling drug use shoplifting I realize that in California you can get a ticket for a violent crime now. You can pretty much get away with about everything in California unless you’re white and you have money and run a business. Then you are evil and need to be taken down a notch or three.

Either way I find it hypocritical that in all of this the bookie is going to be the bad guy and the government. Ohtani and the interpreter are all going to be happy to pile on him. While all 4 parties at this point seem to me to be plenty culpable
