Congrats to the bruins. USC has hit the stretch of the schedule I was worried about, and are starting to fade imo. Getting swept in corvallis vs a down beavers team compared to recent history was not a good sign. USC needs to win the last 2 vs ucal to turn this around. Still have UDub, ASU, Oregon and AZ to play, so the rest of the season doesn't let up.
USC’s schedule is actually favorable from here out. We get ASU andOregon at home, Arizona and Washington on the road. Every other contending team has a tougher last month of the season. We are done with Stanford and UCLA. ASU‘s final 12 conference games are versus contending teams.
Well, most teams will probably have 2 series at home and 2 away left in the season, so that is inconsequential. Right now, ASU is a game behind Stanford for first place. Oregon is currently ahead of USC, so it is good that those 2 series are in LA. UDub is right behind USC, so the series next weekend is vital. USC needs to take 2 of 3 imo. AZ is ostensibly the easiest series left, but they shellacked ASU 20-0 yesterday, so even that series will be tough for a team that hasn't faired all that well on the road.
The Stanford-ASU series still remains to be played, and a sweep either way may well lock up the regular season champ. USC probably needs a 2-1 win for ASU and then take their series vs the sundevils. They would then have the upper hand on both the devils and trees head-to-head. Too bad they had such a poor series vs the beavers or USC would be in an excellent position right now.
Great way to WIN and end the series.
