-Max Muncy was transferred to the 60-day IL (oblique). Muncy is not eligible to return until July 16. He took ground balls today but has many steps (live ABs and a minor league rehab assignment)
-Activated RHP Kyle Hurt and optioned him to OKC. Muncy was on pace for 36 home runs and 100+ RBI before going down. Tough blow for the Dodgers offense.
If a guy has a season-ending injury in August, it's okay to say he was on pace for this or that. But when he goes down in May (and remember, at the time it was thought to be a scam injury just to they could activate someone else), I'm not interested in "on pace for" laments.
What if a guy had three homers the first 6 games and then blew out his knee; is it fair to complain he was on pace for 81 homers?
Soft tissue injuries man. Mookie will be back faster from his than max does pulling a muscle in his side.
Meanwhile La has garbage bags in Lux. Biggio. Taylor. And kike. Kike has a man on 3 last night. Just needed to put the bat on the ball to tie the game. Struck out of course. Barnes also played.
Throw outm an in there and often heyward and you have a lineup that when smith sits and Barnes plays has horrible bats at C. Rf. 3b. 2b. And cf if Taylor or outman played.
You can’t have half your lineup batting 200. Need smith in there. Need Taylor and kike gone. Biggio gone. Miguel Rojas fills in very well for Mookie. Better glove and is batting 279. Just no power. And when Mookie comes back they need to bench Gavin and give that job to Rojas. Then trade for a bat who can play rf. Muncy always has Low ave but high walks and hr. So you live w that.
And that doesn’t even touch the starting pitching
