Midday 2025 Dodger games

Regular season day games:

Once the regular season games start again back home, the Dodgers will have four daytime weekday starts at Dodger Stadium:

Wed/April 30/Marlins/12:10 p.m.

Thurs/June 5/Mets/1:10 p.m.

Wed/July 23/Twins/1:10 p.m.

Wed/August 6/Cards/1:10 p.m.

Let’s see if you can understand this. Crowds at big Time sporting events are cool. Empty baseball stadiums are for Tampa Bay and Oakland and other minor-league teams.

Shopping with grumpy old people is not cool. Neither is standing in line to spend money.

I suppose if you have nothing better to do with your life than going to a Wednesday afternoon game is fantastic. Some of us actually have lives.

The day game in April is doable, the rest are not. MLB teams lose money on these “get away” day games…. I had club seats to Dennis Martinez’ perfect game against the dodgers in 1991 (I think that was ‘91. Maybe it was ‘92). That was a day game. Remember seeing Martinez go down in the first inning with an injury that day coming off the mound on a bunt, or maybe it was a dribbler back to the box…. Good thing for him he stayed in the game lol

That was a weird weekend as I recall. That series with the expose I think had like three no hitters from both teams going into the seventh or eighth inning or beyond. I think the Umpire’s all had hot dates in town at the hotel that weekend.
