Shohei’s left shoulder is forcing his hands to be further away from his body and more upright. It’s messing up with his swing pretty good. He’s not able to get to his usual position:

The day after his injury, he pulled his top hand off the bat as he followed through. The next two games he did not. But that doesn’t mean that it feels good or he has power. He did not have a good World Series and he wasn’t having a good one before those at bats. I think the difference is that in the last two games he did not have the bat speed to fight pitches off and at least get walks or cheap hits . After the injury, he was toast. But I still think he got a walk or two. But yeah. He just didn’t have it.
In years past his ooor performance. Combined with the poor series of Muncy. Smith. Betts. Would have sunk La. But that’s why you play. You never know who your Tommy edman will be. This year it was a guy who had a bad wheel and was playing every other day for a week or two
