Dodger philosophy’s get into the playoffs every year. And you will win your share of championships based on how often you’re in the game.

last year was not the best dodger team ever. Or even the last decade. In fact, I would go so far as to say that with all of their pitching problems and starting pitching woes that this wasn’t even one of their better teams of the last decade.

And yet they made the playoff run look easy. Several other years if they had survived Arizona or San Diego or whoever they might’ve gone all the way and won at all. But didn’t. Last year San Diego easily could have and should have eliminated them. But didn’t.

So when Dodger fans whine and moan about not winning in 2022 or 2025 or whenever they need to understand that even with a stacked team it’s still long odds to win it all you hope to get on a run and be the hot team in October. And you do that by being an October every year. And last year it just worked out.

Odds are this year it won’t. And others will have tantrums and it will the end of their lives as fans. They’ll pull their hair out and threaten to burn their Valenzuela jersey or some of the younger fans will swear that they’ve had it. They’re turning in their Freddie Freeman jersey because they’ve been a loyal fan going all the way back to 2022. And I’ll get what Friedman's trying to do. Be in the game and be there often enough that it breaks for you here and there. Do that enough times over the course of a decade or so and you’re gonna wind up with two or three championships and if you’re extremely fortunate, maybe four of them.
