USC baseball team wins 8th game in a row

Advances to the conference touranament semis and will play Kal tomorrow on the P12 network. Bears can hit the baseball. Stanford will play Arizona in the other semifinal game….. USC will have to win this tournament in order to earn a bid into the NCAA tournament…. Win or go home

USC takes a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th and loses it in B9, 4-3. Finished the season strong. If they wouldn’t have completely tanked the first half of the season, they’d be going to regionals. Oh well, they should have a solid team entering B1G play next season. I have full confidence in Coach Stank.

BTW, I think this was the last PAC12 sporting event.

Yep, hearing they got a few pitchers back who were inj earlier in the year. They’ve won 9 straight now. Arizona the favorite to win the tournament, but they still have to play/beat Stanford to get to us. If USC wins tomorrow, it’s off to the regionals where they will most certainly be a road dog.

They got good pitching ftom Stromsborg, and the bullpen was able to close it out late. A good time for the freshman Dowd’s bat to come alive.

Honestly, I stopped following after the horrendous start. Just now catching up with the team. Looked up Dowd last night after his big hit late in the game. Freshman from Michigan. Only 5’10”, but has the bloodlines (dad played at C Mich, sister played a sport (?) at UMich.

Son has two games today, but I’ll be home in time to watch Ariz/SC tonight. Zona looked strong against Stanford last night. Not expecting to win, but we know what a team can do on a hot streak in baseball….. win or go home
