Yep, USC definitely has scoreboard, and they earned it. But 5 in a row means that 4 of those wins came in the previous two seasons. That's history. Can't have it both ways, squire.

I never said all of those UCLA teams in the 90s were good, I said three of them were. And they were.

Final Fours matter, that's why they count them. Nobody has more appearances than UCLA except North Carolina. Harrick, Howland, and Cronin all won regionals. That's my benchmark, not everyone agrees with me, which is understandable. But that's how I measure relevance.

Elite eights...good, but not as much. Sweet sixteens, even less. But, yes, Enfield has USC playing better. If he can sustain it, they'll be more relevant than they've been in decades. It was a good win over UCLA and a disappointing loss for UCLA because they played far below their capabilities (their recent thrashing of Arizona seems like distant history).

EDIT: in all fairness, Elite eight appearances are also impressive. I think this article spells that out pretty well. I think the part where he says that even the Blue Bloods can go long stretches without making it that far is noteworthy. I just think winning regionals is where I place the marker because, to me, that's the equivalent of making one of the big four bowl games in football.
