He’s gone….. USC receives 16 mil in buyout $$$$$ from SMU.
Edit: Personally can’t stand the guy, but wondering if Lebron might step in with an assist and help influence a legit/big time hoops coach to take the gig. His son is nowhere close to being ready for the NBA, so I’d think daddy will would want him coached up for the next 1-2 years.
Yes, initially….. Heard yesterday it’s a done deal,,,, Andy is gone. The buyout sounds really high. I’m thinking it’s probably lower, but who am I to question
One rule of coaching is to take the next seat or bag before your present one gets hot.
Coach B always used to say that if you took over a three and seven team and you got them to eight or nine wins get out Because that program will never be satisfied with four or five wins again. And if you ever have one of those years, they’ll want to fire you.
Steve Sarkisian knew this and knew that his seat was getting hot in Washington and he might have one more year left. So he came to USC where he had a four year guarantee and it just started the money all over again. That’s what coaches do.
Hoping that if it happens soon enough. Like now. That USC has time to go find this year's hot coach. Like he was that years hot coach when Florida Gulf coast went on a run.
USC to SMU is a step down. Major step down. In conference. In schools. In program. In facilities. I have been to the SMU campus and their fieldhouse. It's like a big gym on campus. Not impressive.
Either way, if SMU wants him and is willing to pay USC $16 million, that's a huge buyout. For a basketball coach. Wonder if SC could entice one of the Drew brothers.
Yeah what was funny was at the time he lectured me I was railing against people
Like Dennis Erickson taking the money and bailing on Oregon state. Or Miami or whoever. And coach b explained the business side of this to me. He was my wife’s uncle. Probably the only member off her family I liked lol.
Dude coached Isaac Curtis if you remember that name. Anyway he told me how Dennis was smart and he cashed in. And how after what Dennis did a tOregon state. A perennial loser. That he could never stay there and go backwards. He had to cash bigger checks and guarantee his wife Income for the next four years. And that the only reason she put up with all his drinking and football and moving was that every step along the way they became increasingly wealthier
As you can probably tell coach b was a buddy of Dennis. Though coach wasn’t much of a drinker. Dennis was.
Please disregard my comments below. Wrong wrong wrong. Guessing it’ll probably still happen, but no more re from me on this subject. My bad
Maybe USC will finish in the top 10 in the Big 10 with a new coach.

How many coaches has LeBron run off now?
time for enfield to move on. talent-wise, usc is in better shape, which should help land a better in-game hc.
