I think its a question that needs to be asked. Both incidents happened at a practice. Also happened on the football team a few years ago with Armstead. Or maybe it happens at other places and we dont pay attention because its not USC. Northwestern had the same issue, one kid (from Laverne HS ) died during a practice there from a heart condition. That case was blamed on a supplement. That supplement is now banned in the US. Mom made cha ching. Can't recall the name of the supplement. But i think its a very good place to start. Look at the supplements.
His basketball career is secondary but I'm wondering if he will ever play again. Huge financial liability for USC. This sucks. Best wishes for a full recovery.
Any chance it could be hypertrophy of the left ventricle? I know some high level athletes build extra muscle in their heart. PED's can contribute. He seems young to have built up that much though.
All kinds of things can cause cardiac arrest. It could be as simple as an allergic reaction or reaction to a drug. The cause will be figured out, but will the truth be revealed?
Seems like a pre-season trend at USC? Two guys in two years, both about the same time? Something with training? Suppliment schedule?
