Enfield and Cronin Are a Fun Contrast

Just Two completely different styles.

CE likes length and athleticism even if they cant shoot.

Cronin likes smarts and shooters even if not athletic.

I think CE is actually a better talent evaluator than Cronin.

Cronin is a better X‘s and O’s guy who focuses on playing smart and avoiding TOs.

Cronin is a much better defensive coach.

One is a good at teaching free throws and the other is good at shooting them.

So far its a good battle.

And yet. Here we are. Bitter Bruin fans minimizing usc because regular thumping of the bruins isn’t enough. Moving the goal posts because the heats getting just a little warm

and yes here we are. Usc in the tourney every year and we are all measuring them by how far they go.

btw that “great” final four Bruin team lately was a play in flunky. Been awhile since ucla had anything to write home about.

what I’m amazed by is that we are all here talking about this. USC in most of my life has been a bottom half pac school. My my my how things have changed. Full arena. Bruins making excuses and back pedaling. Trojans surpassing oregon and uw in conference. . Trojans consistently having good seasons. Looks like old banjo boy or big teeth or super model banger is building himself quite a program.

Being the play in team is a GREAT call out.

PS USC went to elite 8 that season. so cronin won one more game??? Not that amazing. Too bad USCs huge comeback in Pauley fell short. Bruin fans would really be having a bad week Right now

You guys always bring that up, but you never get it right. UCLA won two more games, including the play-in game. And the play-in game doesn't mean they weren't worthy of getting in the tournament, it just means that's the way the assignments went. In other words, there were obviously teams in the regular field of 64 that weren't as good as the Bruins. How do I know that? UCLA beat some of them.

The fact remains that Cronin won a regional title in his first post-season with the Bruins, something Banjo Boy hasn't done in going on 10 years, and something USC hasn't done since the 1950s. No amount of minimization on your part will ever change that, and someday you'll have to learn to deal with it. Or not.

Maybe he feels it better to build good records and get challenged enough in the conference than go get beat by a traditional power outside. Maybe he feels playing ucla. Arizona uo and maybe uw is enough Thats About 7 games a year there.

Well maybe he is. But he makes about what. $3 million a year. Gets in the tourney every year and is married to a super model. So I’m going with “cal me what you want but I’m happy to be me” department there

which does remind me. Why does a guy who set some sort of free throw records. And was a professional free throw coach. Continually trot out teams that can’t shoot free throws? I find that to be most curious.

but we are talking usc basketball in late January and doing so in a positive manner. Again. As we have the last 5-6 years. My my my been a long way since Kevin O’Neil or Henry bibby
