The first thing I told my daughter when she enrolled at USC was “USC basketball is and always will be cursed.” She graduated in 2002 and everything that has happened for USC basketball since proves the curse is still in effect. LOL
Was my HS car. Nothing fire then. Just an old car that dad's mechanic said was reliable. Till I got ahold of it and starting screwing with things I didn't understand. Back then kids did such things.
Car kept hanging around. College. Looked like a beater. Career I had a company car and it sat. Started business and wife drove it while we sold her car and bought our first truck. Didn't really sell her car. She drove it through the middle of a deer and the insurance paid for a used truck. Anyway, kids start to grow up and car is sitting in garage for YEARS. Just looking half done. Some primer. A half finished black interior. Looked like I was a Raider fan w a black vinyl top and silver car.
Kids get in HS and I decide it would be a cool car for them to drive but gosh, needs a paint job. And probably a new vinyl top. And gosh, while at it we might as well redo the interior. And that was BEFORE it hit the shop. About $30K later you see the result. Looks like a Hot Wheel. Gorgeous car. But ugh, riding in it feels like I put a milk crate down and am driving a go kart. AC always out. Mirrors SUCK. Stereo won't hook up to my phone. Blah blah blah
Once done, 1.5 years later. Oldest son is like a Senior now and he says "No way am I driving that. Some idiot at school will key it and you'll blame me" His brothers pretty much followed suit. Didn't even drive it to prom. Her kids wanted to but schedules retrieving car didn't work.
Would be a perfect beach car but living less than half a mile from the water and on the cliff, the salty air would trash that metal body. It would be pitted in a year or two. So it sits in the garage with a cover on it. Kids all gone at that house. Not really sure what to do with it now.
Once in awhile I drive it to Home Depot or the grocery store Park faaaaaaar away from everyone. Just to get it out and the juices on it flowing.
Went to Arby's one drive. Drive through. Gorgeous Girl about 19 leans out the drive through and between gum smacks looks left to the hood, right to the rear and then at me and smiles and says "so, when you gonna give me a ride in this thing?" I was like "my gosh, where were you about 40 years ago? I couldn't get a girl like you to spit on me back then, car or not" Probably all for the best, she probably would have given me a heart attack or aneurysm anyway
Hahahahahha, good post. The interior restoration job is real nice, looks like a 30k type job. Your kids made a good decision because some idiot would have keyed it or dinged it. I always parked my Tesla as far away as possible from anyone in a parking lot. Inevitably some buffoon would still park next to me. A mostly empty parking lot, empty spaces everywher, and still a car would park right next to mine. I got a few dings on it now, but I'm over it Don't care.

We’ve been saying that since the Boyd/Morrison days.
1 step forward; 2 steps back
It is strange that’s for sure. Why has there been a mass exodus of players from Musselman’s first class? Only one player returning.
The latest is Desmond Claude leaving who is a really good player, along with Yates departure represented the starting backcourt.
They were able to land Rice a guard from Maryland for a hefty price tag of $3 mil outbidding Villanova and Gonzaga from what I read.
