And beating everyone by an average of 22.3 points a game. Annihilation. Perfection.
And being 0-2 to your rival. Losing both games by double digits and being run off the court in the 4q of both games.
I bet this is what USC felt like when they were trying to be relevant versus Walton and company in the early 70s. USC had a great team. Didn’t win the conference. Didn’t win anything.
UCLA women killed everyone and didn’t win the conference. Didn’t win the city. Sports can be cruel
Unlike the USC mens team that was 24-2 but didn’t make the tourney because only conference champions made it UCLA is in the tourney..
The 1970-71 SC team was the school’s best ever. Blew out everyone while UCLA was having close calls every other night. But 0-2 against the Bruins, one of which was a giveaway.
To make it worse, SC had no postseason. Only the conference champion qualified for the NCAA, and the conference wouldn’t let anyone else play inbthe NIT.
So,yeah, I know what it feels like.
