Bona went for the block and the other two Bruin players by the basket had no clue Carlson was there for the tip in until it was too late. The fact that UCLA let Smith get the pass with no one guarding him until he blew past one of our players at the foul line was poor coaching or poor execution. Probably both.
So true, here's what I don't understand, is Mick calls TO after Dylan makes the go ahead basket with 6.2 secs left to presumably set up a defensive play to guard against Smith.
Prior to that shot a TO was called ,and Mick should have just told them at that point what to do if we score.
Utah was out of timeouts. Now they get to set up a play thanks to Mick stopping the clock.
Yeah, that was a mistake. I think the previous timeout Mick had a lot on his mind, in terms of setting up the eventual score. Maybe he just didn't have enough time. But it was definitely a mistake. Actually, Utah looks pretty good. I don't know why they have waned a bit down the stretch.
Disappointing loss for UCLA, because I don't see them winning the conference tournament. Maybe next year; I think they could be much improved with experience, but some of the Euros really need to step up.
Utah isn't even that good, so I guess UCLA isn't either. Neither of these teams will make the tournament, and I doubt Colorado will either. Maybe.
Arizona, yeah, whatever. They'll fuck the dog, like they always do. And Washington State? Who gives a shit. The Pac 12 sucks.
One pt. loss at the buzzer, all UCLA had to do was box out and not let Carlson come over the back and tip it in. Fundamentals.
And the ejection of Mack was total BS.
