Somehow I'm more nervous about 5 seed Oregon playing 12 seed Liberty on Friday than I was with AP 8 Oregon playing AP 23 (undefeated) Liberty in the 2024 Fiesta Bowl.....lol. (Final score was 45-6).
You really pulling for the big ten? Ducks aren’t real members and never will be. Just like Utah and CU were never real members of the PAC. No one thought of them that way.
Same with the west coast teams in the big ten. Especially when 3 of them begged their way into it. Two taking half shares for six years.
How are you relating to Rutgers, Purdue, Minnesota. Zero in common. Fit like a square peg into a round hole.
Traveling 3x miles for road events.
How many away Duck games have you been to? How was that away basketball game on the East Coast. How much did that cost you. How was the weather in January?
Gave up playing on the road in the Bay Area, AZ for what? It’s not like the Ducks are better in any sport than before ? The money coming in is the same.
The only worst decision is Calfurd in the ACC. lol. 😂. Yeah, how’s that working out. ?
No, I’m not pulling for any other big ten teams. Could care less how they do.
Sure, why not? No reason to be sour about our new conference.
I see it as being a little like the old AFL and NFL before the merger in 1966 - soon the SEC and B1G will merge in a sense, along with a number of other teams from other conferences, and the old conference system will be no more anyway. Regionality is dying whether you like it or not.
I loved the old Pac-8/10/12. But things change, move forward with the times or go the way of the Dodo bird. Accept it or die a grumpy old man.
And that's how I see a lot of the posters here on the WW....dying as grumpy old men rather than accepting change. Hope that won't be you, TEE!!
I never ever thought I would pull for Michigan but today I was pulling for Michigan over Texas A&M. Part of that reason is a distaste for the SEC.
But whether you and I like it or not, we are in the Big 10, at least for now. Might as well enjoy the ride. I think both Oregon and USC are going to be fine. Not so sure about UCLA and Washington. You have Nike money and USC can raise money like crazy when needed. The new $150 million dollar football facility attests to that and another $75 million is being spent on a first class facility for wonens soccer and lacrosse and a rebuild of Dedeaux Field as well as other upgrades, 75% paid for. USC does a great job of not having to borrow money for its facilities. It’s pay as you go.
How does Nike get a 5 seed while UCLA gets a 7 seed? The Bruins weren't that good, but they were definitely better than Oregon. Purdue as a 4 seed? Seems a bit high. Michigan as a 5 seed? Seems a bit low.
The Bruins are probably a 7 seed because UCLA lost to some really shitty teams, like Minnesota (man, did they suck!). Maybe that drubbing they took from Wisconsin in the B1G tourney also didn't help, but conference tourney games usually don't matter much. I guess the Quad 1 wins and losses are the answer, but I'm too lazy to look them up.
Why was USC so shitty this year? Lack of talent? They had a really shitty conference record.

The only time to worry as a Oregon fan would be if Dana Altman leaves. Great coach, and I guarantee they’re in the 2nd round. Go Ducks and Bruins!
