Problem was it was these two guys plus 4 more 1st Rounders. Inc #4 in 2019.

Never will forgive him for trading zubac for nothing. Just gave him away. Lakers scouting department had so many late round or 2nd round steals. Caruso. Zubac. Josh hart. And the tattoo kid who went to the capitals.

This is a very weak draft.

Jamal Murray is good. Ingram is too. Just not a cornerstone. Cant build around a 6’9” beanpole.

Magic should have traded the pick.

This sort of shows how Ben S was picked #1 even tho they didn’t make ncaa tourney. Best all around prospect since LeBron.

My problem with ball was that in his he racked up massive stats with guys who were in great condition and very familiar with each other. So they played hurry up Paul wet head style and outran and out talented everyone in a game with a million possessions.

West heads offense has been proven to be a failure except when you out talent someone and maximize possessions. Problem is, every offense is successful when you have more talent than the opposition.

At UCLA he didn’t learn anything which doesn’t surprise anyone. As I recall both in high school and UCLA he was in a system where they had very poor shot selection. So he never learned to be a discriminating or accurate shooter. Because he just came from the volume offense. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I also thought he had an extremely strange shooting motion The result of which was a very slow wind up and a shot that was uncharacteristically easy to block because he wrapped his shooting arm sort of around his head. Making him shorter and the shot elongated.

Add that all together and I didn’t really like that pick. Not sure who I’d have picked instead. I mean. Back than. Oh yes I do. Now I remember. I was very vocal about this

UCLA played Kentucky And d Aaron Fox ate balls lunch. It was obvious who was more athletic, and who was the better player. I saw it then that game and was vocal about it and did not change my opinion all the way through their rookie years and all the way to today. I have always loved Fox and thought he would’ve been a great pick.

I also recall liking Josh Jackson a lot, but I don’t remember what happened to him as a pro

In this draft, the player I was in love with was Buddy Hield and upon looking back on it Brandon Ingram was fine at two because while Buddy Hield has had a good NBA career I don’t know that it’s been any better than Brandon Ingram’s.
