Maybe it was a c130. My pilot experience was limited to learning to take off. Learning to land. And then solo. Then I announced I was done. My instructor was incredulous. I was like yeah. It’s like riding a roller coaster. Just wanted to see if I could. Without dying. I think he wanted to kill me. All that lost revenue. All for mine solo flight. Maybe two.

Wife says she remembers going to the tarmac with her older brothers and watching him fly away in his plane from the base her mom and she. About 3. Most of the men in my immediate family served. I was always against war, any war, even when I was a little kid. Still am. It's a morale not a religious thing for me. Really pissed my dad off. Forcing people to kill each other , no fawking way. Every Sunday in church they would read the names of the kids who died in nam that week. And for what? again, no fawking way.

But if someone wants to sign up, doesn't have a problem killing some stranger, Well, thank you for your service.
