Last time they were in the final 4 was before Bobby knight won his last nc at Indiana.
Before Glenn Robinson
The big star for Purdue was a center named Joe Barry Carroll. Out of Denver Colorado. 1980. Number one picking in the draft. I think by the Golden State Warriors I don’t know what derailed his career being too skinny or maybe a drug problem.
That was a long time ago. So long that went Purdue lost in the final four. They actually had a third place game that they won.
Happy for dad happy for cousins, happy for nephew I wish Grandma were here to see it
Not just happy for family but when you lose as a 1 to a 16 like Virginia and Purdue did that has to be the absolute worst. To live with that forever. That's like being Arizona forever.
So for them to come back and redeem like this then good for them
What I don’t quite understand about basketball is why final 4 is the goal and why if you lose there somehow it’s still a great happy accomplishment. In football if you lose the Super Bowl or nc game people butcher you
So I don’t quite get that but whatever. Apparently Purdue feels redeemed and people are all excited and given what happened to them last year? I’d feel good for them if they were about anyone. From a fans perspective it’s nice to see some new names in there too. Alabama and Purdue
Happy for Gene Keady. Still alive and so excited. Keady was coach at Purdue for like 30 years and had some huge disappointments. He started the Purdue choke tradition lol. So I’m happy to see him happy. That’s been a cursed program
UCLA bounced them. Ohio State too that year. I think Clark Kellog holds a grudge. He seems to always pick against UCLA.
