Despite all that length Kentucky surprisingly lost the board battle 43-42. You would of thought they dominated in that stat. Kentucky has length but UCLA is more physical and does a better job of body positioning. Another suprise was Kentucky had 0 pts off fast breaks which is a credit to the UCLA defense.
But look at offensive boards, Kentucky dominated there. UCLA won the overall rebound battle because Kentucky missed tons of shots. Kentucky shot 33% from the field and 38% from the line. Lots of easy rebounds for the Bruins. The tough rebounds and the ones that matter the most are the offensive boards.
