It was pretty stupid of Etienne to do that, not to mention classless. If he was playing, I'd bench him, make him write a written apology to the U of A, etc. It does reflect poorly on UCLA.

But assault? Yeah, right. I'm sure the Arizona fans were being complete assholes, but that's still no excuse. If you're going to play at that level, you gotta learn how to block out the fans.

@Waldorf at this point all we know is there was probable cause for an arrest (approved by a judge Btw). The case can be dismissed at a later time by the DAs office, or if it goes further through the process, then possibly a judge. 3 things could happen- 1. He may ultimately be fined (found guilty). 2. Charges dropped- no crime committed, or 3. Case dismissed for further justice, IOW, DA chose not not file any number of reason (does not mean he didn’t commit a crime). Having perspective is to allow the evidence to be presented, just like in the other thread about Brian Flores.

@Brad Stevens Fair enough. But I'll be pretty shocked if he's found guilty of anything other than being as asshole. He should have been arrested because he's stupid, and I'm sure he was arrested because the security guard was pissed off at him, understandably so.

I guess we'll see. It made the news, but that's not surprising in this day and age. Bill Russell once spit on someone who asked him "How's the weather up there?" Russell spit on him and said, "It's raining." What happened to Russell? Not a goddamned thing. But he was Bill Russell, and that was then. Now? They'll shoot you in the fucking face for anything.

Obviously he can’t be arrested for being an asshole. yes, the security guard may have embellished his story, or 100 other possible factors, but that’s why it will be decided in court on r by the F’d up DAs office. Unless we were there and saw it all, then all we know is what was stated by either side.

Am I supposed to know WTF he meant by "la marshmallow ball"? First of all, Ball wasn't capitalized, so I was wondering what "la" (the?) marshmallow ball even was. Once Java mentioned the Ball brother, I could hardly remember the player in question being fat, otherwise that would have been another original clue. I suppose the terms "stole" and "international incident" might have tipped me off, but I thought he was being facetious about...something. But, unlike you, I don't have total recall about all things UCLA, especially shit that happened years ago. Regardless, it was not a lie. If it were, why would I come clean about it?
