I've got to say I find it amusing that Enfield wins 22-25 gams a year, has his team annually in the Top 3 in the conference. Goes to the Elite 8 last year. Had had I dunno what, 3-4 first round draft picks in a row from his team? And took over USC when they were a complete dumpster fire. And we are complaining that he isn't getting the most out of his team. Tremendous.
@Waldorf also a fair assessment here. what gets me is that Mobley, Boogie and Pederson are all good players for sure. And yes streaky. Why didn’t Enfield use more substitutions and rotations. RWD, Morgan, the Wisconsin kid & Anderson kid can all play. He shouldve developed them more IMO.
Enfield also needs more set plays capitalizing on each players strength. Not sure he does that enough. This is the PAC 12 and the Tourney you just can’t out athlete guys.
You can make a case he favors upper classmen. That maybe the case. Then some of what I said above is at least based in logic.
@Pasadena Trojan He could have started by figuring out how all of these turnovers were being created. Many times it was because the ball was in the hands of players who were not good ball handlers. It's that simple. Guys like Peterson were turning it over too much, and that's not entirely their fault.
And you're right about set plays. Basketball is a game of matchups, and Enfield didn't utilize mismatches often enough to his advantage -- or at least early enough.
Did Baylor embarrass the big 12? How about Kentucky and the sec? Both most to severely lower seeds. Arizona just about pissed it away against a seed 8 below. Nope. It’s the tour ey
as to usc. I saw this months ago. I think you can be weak in one area. But when I saw a huge disparity in turnovers. Like usc committed many and got few? Thsts two areas. Then they were weak at the line but sent other teams to the line more? Two more areas. Then Peterson and mobley cooled off and usc offense went stagnant? I mean. How many things can go wrong and still win? Then oddly usc turned into a 3 point team. Tallest team out there and everyone wants to be Steph curry. So surprise. The rebounding edge also disappeared. Hey. Here’s a good idea. Let’s have 6’9 and 6’10 guys bring the ball up the court and distribute. Yeah unless you’re magic Johnson that rarely ends well
@Java You're right, it's the sudden death tournament. But, there is no doubt that Kentucky embarrassed Kentucky. Whether or not that type of criticism is legitimate, well, that's a different story. But the state of Kentucky right now is in a state of disaster if you read some of the mail online that is being directed towards Calipari. It's pretty funny stuff if you haven't checked it out.
@Java have to agree with you here about USC strategy & coaching. No doubt a lot of room for criticism. And Boogies back up Anderson is a high quality player. Not like we needed Mobley or Pederson to play that role.
@Waldorf well Miami just took out auburn. Top ranked for much of the year. Sooooo. It happens. Btw I’ve been saying this about usc since what? End of January? Told you
@Java There is no doubt that USC got beat by a very good team, and not by very much at that. The tournament is such a minefield. Anybody can lose...or win. I thought Akron had UCLA dead bang, exposing the Bruins' weaknesses. But now I think the Bruins gave a legit shot at the Final Four IF they can survive UNC. Big IF. I have serious doubts UCLA can pull it off without a healthy Jaquez (or even with one), but we'll see.

Java that’s pretty accurate and in regards to your breakdown of SC the only conclusion I could come up with is coaching.

I knew that turnovers would limit how far this team would go in the tournament, but I did not expect an early exit like this.
TO’s killed SC 18! Miami registered 12 steals to 1. Miami was a pathetic 1 for 14 on 3pt shots.
