Ouch. I was sad to see Howell go. She can shoot long range. Very good player. I wasn’t as sure about her d or ability to get open but she was a frosh and shooting is a premium. Especially for these unathletic chicks.
Katie heckle disappoints. She is really quick. Has another gear. She and Samuels both got beat up in the lane. And neither are great outside shooters. For 90% of the teams usc plays their drive and dish or drive and layup game is excellent. But when usc plays elite teams that is a problem. Large post players make them ineffective.
They only har one apply beyond juju and that was Samuel’s. She and heckle were ball handlers supreme. Howel not so.
I think when you recruit the hs talent they did they all expected the role that Kennedy smith had. Honestly considering Howell started I don’t see the problem.
Samuels and heckel I get.
I posted earlier had had way too many guards and just needed two 6’3 players. Now with Watkins out they have to rebuild around Kennedy smith. Who was a great frosh but not a program changer.
