I was a bit worried about this one after hearing Caleb compare this game to the Red River Shootout
now he knows it's nothing like any other rivalry, especially when played in South Bend
the Luck of the Irish has to be experienced to be believed
I am not sure even Riley really understood what is possible once South Bend gets rocking
especially when they smell Trojan blood in the water
the only thing worse than watching a good, but not great, domer team play like the '85 Bears on defense
while their offense gets to start most of their first half drives in the Red Zone
is listening to those freaking smug domer annoucers claim "noboby throws a better deep ball [than Hartman]"
and on, and on, and on as they build up the on field performance as a once in a lifetime epic domer effort
instead of SC literally turning the game over to them and never getting on track
they would have you think the domers were headed to the playoffs this year
when it's more likely they are headed for a bowl game against Air Force or similar
losing to Joe Montana in a South Bend beatdown is one thing
losing to Hartman is sickening, not because he's bad, but he didn't even break a sweat or get a grass stain
despite SC actually showing up on defense doing the best they could with the cards they were dealt in the redzone
suffice to say I won't be holding my breath until Hartman gets invited to the HOF, that's for sure
unless SC finishes this year as PAC champ
listening to the domers crow for the next year will be worse than nauseating
oh wait there is something worse
seeing Mark Duddy's smug little face negate a Caleb TD because of a holding call that's never called in SEC, B1G, etc
while ignoring the two obvious blocks in the back at the point of attack on the kickoff return for TD that killed off any remaing Trojan moral, as domer annoucers crow about the awesome blocking technique and the increadible running skill of the back as he goes untouched into the endzone during the replay
has any one referee in the history of college football officiated more Trojan losses than Mark Duddy?
asking for a friend
losing to the domers in a hard fought game is one thing
but not like this and not like '77
oh well, history does repeat itself, and I have seen this game before
Congrats domers, you did play well and you took care of business
you get bragging rights until we meet again
excuse me if I find no joy in it
