That 6'6 Gentry really screws up QB. 3rd time he's set up a tipped pass INT by making a QB alter his motion. That's 5 INT already in like 61 minutes of play. 5 in the last 46 minutes.
Williams is just what so many of us have dreamed off for years. Sending fast WR deep and then taking off into the hole for 10. No coverage sacks here. First down after first down.
Wow, and USC just gobbled up yards. I said they'd win big but my gosh they just opened up and kicked Stanford in the teeth.
TE jump pass for the TD. Guess USC will use the TD a bit after all. Lot of TD to go around.
The INT return was for 20-30 yards which once again means USC not only gets a TO but some serious return yards. I think they have about 180 return yards on INT already this year. There are QB who haven't thrown for that much. Their D may suck but if they get TO it won't matter
That's the kind of start USC is used to seeing other teams have against them the last few years. Of course, Stanford is coached by a fraud so no wonder they came out looking like USC usually does.
Very surprised to see Stanford not huddle. Open offense. Lot of RPO stuff. They saved this for USC and are trying to surprise w this. New look. USC just needs to hold on, by time to adjust. No film on this.
Not a fan of those long slow handoffs Think that gives the DL and LB more time to penetrate.
Huge win for USC. Helped by the sliver of a heel on replay. And a 4th quarter pick. Their 6th INT of the last 68 minutes of football and about the last 50 minutes of play. Wow. That's over an INT a quarter. Another yet another tipped pass. I don't think I 've seen USC D drop a tipped pass this year. Maybe this Ugandan marathoner approach works
Stanford has had two possession and wasted both. Should have taken the 3, but FG aren't going to beat USC either. USC might end up 14-0 here AND Stanford had the ball first. That could make things get ugly. Big possession here for USC.
Fortunately, I like their chances. Like USC and Caleb with the ball a lot
