5 top 100 defenders

From SoCal, 3 play up front. Our defense sucks ass. None of them are coming to USC. 3 are 5 stars. WTF is Riley doing? Can we get a real head coach and slide Riley over to offensive coordinator? I am actually out on Riley now. There are are another 3 SoCal defensive players in the next 100. 2 DL, also not going to usc. Now we did go to TX, GA and the Midwest and get players but do you honestly think if they were good UGA, TX, Oklahoma or Bama would let them leave the South? As for the Midwest do you think Ohio State or Mich would let them leave MN or IL?

So to recap Riley only cares about offense, but doesn't coach up to the players he has, he just poaches disgruntled players, which are 50/50 propositions, he doesn't coach special teams or defense and apparently he cannot be bothered to recruit?!? We are fucked.

The day Riley was hired Wolf quoted a pac 12 Coach as saying, "Riley is already the best recruiter in California". I was pretty stoked about that.

CLR is quite clear. USC will not focus on local recruiting. USC recruits nationally.

Approximately 40% of the kids committed were from California. We'll wait and see how this all plays out when it's wrapped up in Frebruary and the new staff hits the recruiting trail.. Let me add this...getting kids is all about NIL these days...USC is not backaed financially very well in any of the three NILprograms they have...as I warned when NIL came into existence the school most positioned to kill it with NIL was Oregon. With Nike as a key sponsor in the sporting industry they are set up with cash flow...USC boosters send their cash to building Libraries and the such while Oregon sends theirs to the zsports Programs...recruiting without a solid NIL is not going to ever reach the heights it once had at USC unless something drastically changes..

I used to have a whole set of rules for recruiting. And that was one of them. As the leaves turn kid gets homesick for moms cooking. The fat little girlfriend at home. Shoutout to Mike leach for that one
