seems like a lot to give up when you got so many 5 stars. i don't think ucla got any 5 stars, just some walk-ons that were tearing SC up.

My kid got home and heard 62 and he said, "What? Basketball?"

Just saying guys, its a lot of points and the hurdle by DTR would live infamy if SC was good this year. damnit.. DTR tried that like 22 times his career and finally it worked... lol

@art so true, under carroll SC had flashy guys like reggie, mike williams, colbert, etc. BUT - and this a a big BUT - we had guys like ced ellis, the road grader john drake, sean cody. Carroll had the beef to go with the flashy guys. But sark and kiff got enamored with the bling and didn't do enough to create the foundation. Under those guys SC became WR U, and the culture got soft. And it's been soft since.

If it was basketball, USC would have won, just like the sweeps of last year and the year before. Pete had a pretty good run in the 2000's.

pete didn't really have a good run, more like pac12 was way way down and Pete took advantage... I think UCLA had been dominating USC for years... UCLA fell off since Bob T was a fat POS and you could see the tide turning, Pete was hired and kept that momentum.

Pete literally was the SOLE cause of USC not at least playing in 5-6 National Title games... Think about it.. a terrible UCLA team knocked USC out of it 13-9... Oregon St was horrific and beat them twice when that was USC's only loss. Stanford beat them as 41 point dogs that cost them a title.

Pete lost the Title game to Texas because he sat Reggie on the most important play in USC history... Might want to at least use that kid as a decoy. Or just punt and make Texas earn it.

Pete was great for USC I guess but almost any decent coach would have dominated. Pete inherited his best team and kept that momentum going.

one more thing.... the last 3-4 coaches USC has had, its like they all want to play kunt ball.. remember when USC was good? back in 70s? You guys played power football.... now all your coaches are puzziez and like to throw throw throw... nobody wants to get dirty.... you got a team full of fags because the coaches are fags. Ucla won because they ran the ball.... Stop being fags Trojans and maybe you'll win a few games next year. UCLA threw maybe 20 times, USC threw about 50 times... come on man..

I agree. USC was USC like Green Bay was Green Bay. You knew what play they were going to call and they just dared you to stop it. If you look at the best 4 programs over the last few years, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia and Alabama, that is how they play. They all have good running games.

I like Chip because that is how he plays. He knows you need balance. Too bad Chip couldn't find a better recruiter and a better defensive coordinator.
