the whole concept of people purchasing personal seat licenses for ANYTHING is insane and just plain stupid.
Let me think, a vacation home or a personal seat license? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. At least to me it is nuts. It's on TV. It's better on TV. Better tickets are ALWAYS available for any game you really want to go to on stubhub or whatever site you like. They all have access to the same seats. And it's better to go to an away game or two a year and make a weekend out of it and even that team's best seats are always available.
I remember sitting in auburn's scholarship club under their press box on a hot august evening. I walked in with all my SC gear , had access to free food , drink, program , etc, just like everywhere else, in their similar section. For the cost of plane flight, hotels, Restaurants , golf, etc, a grand for the best seat in the house seemed reasonable. Still does. And NO I didn't donate any money to their scholarship club to sit there. I just bought the tx online.
There must be a whole lot of people living somewhere with an extra quarter million to throw down the toilet?
The Cal stadium financial disaster is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. Someone should go to jail. I won't hold my breath. sc
Ching-Chongs don't "rike" football. Just sucking-off a cheap public-supported premium education from the "public nipple". No "blending in" to Cal Heritage....but then again....WTF is "Cal Heritage"? Craig Morton, Steve Bartkowski, Dennis Snyder........or Commie People's Park.....Unabomber.....Patty Hearst? Kal has so many sick personalities......not one of them supports the University.....they all "suck-off' all they can.....and wish they could burn it down when they have their fill.
They believed their own press clippings. They thought they had a fan base that would invest in seat licenses at around $250,000. Later they lowered license prices and took pledges of purchases that no one paid. Aside from more than blowing through the budget by more than 200% there were a host of disasters,
Faculty and alumni from Cal wanted to make sure football stayed in its little corner so they actively sabotaged improvement efforts. I followed this for a couple years as an SCa MBA friend was hired to try to untangle the failed planned pledge/sale revenue mess. This NPR article from wayback explains the load of bullshit the gubment folks believed. the i-bankers made great dough.
