A major USC 2022 prospect is officially on the market.
Four-star 2022 Puyallup (WA) offensive guard Dave Iuli backed off his Oregon commitment on Christmas. Iuli, who committed to the Ducks over the summer, made the announcement on his social media:
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Iuli is rated the No. 191 overall prospect, the No. 13 interior offensive lineman and the No. 3 prospect in Washington, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 17 interior line prospect in the 247Sports rankings.
The Trojans are hoping to close out the 2022 class strong, especially on the offensive line. In addition to Iuli, USC is also in the mix for five-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly, who is also out of Washington. USC will have compete with Miami where former Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal now reside.
247Sports Evaluation:
Good athlete with mobility, versatility to play inside or outside. Uses strength to open up holes, gets out in front and paves the way when pulling and can pick up blitzers and adept in pass protection. Somewhat of a tweener and had some injury concerns. A Projects as multi-year Power 5 starter and projects as third day pick.
USC signed three offensive linemen in the 2021 cycle in three-star San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) offensive tackle Mason Murphy, three-star Bellflower (Calif.) offensive guard and Callelan (TX) offensive guard Ty Buchanan. It is hoping to bring in multiple offensive linemen for next season under new offensive line coach Jim Henson, who is coming from Texas A&M.
USC's 2022 class is rated No. 70 in the nation and No. 8 in the Pac-12. The class has taken on a wave of decommitments since the arrive of Riley in anticipation for a flood of new prospects. The class still holds commitments from five-star running back Raleek Brown, five-star cornerback Domani Jackson, four-star Las Vegas (NV) cornerback Fabian Ross, three-star edge rusher Devan Thompkins, three-star linebacker Garrison Madden, two-star kicker Atticus Bertrams and TCU DL transfer Earl Barquet.
Bring in some hogs that can block and stay healthy.
He visited in July. If he’s visiting again, Id say we have a great shot!
