Burrito Loco in Minneapolis certainly isn't bad, but compared to anything in L.A. it is awfully mediocre, at best. I imagine some of the other places listed in that breakdown are total dog squeeze...but I'm sure some of them are also pretty darned good.
You can find some really good Mexican food in unexpected places. Some of the best I ever ate was in a little joint in Montana. I think the WORST Mexican food I ever ate (didn't actually finish it) was in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Holy dogshit, that was bad!!! Yeah, I know, why the fuck would I be eating Mexican food in Tennessee? Well, like I said, you never know...until you know.
In SoCal, I really love El Farolito in Placentia. La Azteca in East L.A. has the best breakfast burritos, by far.

La Barca on Vermont Street
For USC The original El Cholos on Western Or Chano’s. Tough call. Chanos being open at 2 am gives it extra credit tho
The Domers have Chipotle. What, no Taco Bell?
LA is a “ college town”? What, someone burned Webster‘s Book.
That list is brought to you by the American Plumbers Union.
