They need to get to 105 by fall. I assume they will start by cutting walk on’s. Then process scholarship dudes after spring practice. Spring portal will be busy , but likely few top tier dudes.
Wonder if the future of college football will eliminate the walk on. It’s looking more and more like the NFL model will take over college football. Practice squads in some form.
I’m not sure how many are on USC roster. But we will find out soon.
I think that’s the assumption yes. Eliminate walk ons. Schools like Alabama and Oregon. Where you can live in a trailer in the woods with the chiggers for nothing. And tuition is $159. $59 with the $100 off coupon from piggly wiggly or the Harley dealership in Eugene.
Schools like that will give NIL to cover tuition and so even if they can’t give a scholarship beyond 85 they’ll still easily be able to afford the next 20.
USC and Stanford. SMU. TCU etc are going to have to endow some more scholarships.
